With all the excitement and patriotism (which are a rare thing over here!) that have been going in London, it's been hard not to get swept up in it... and as a former cheerleader, spirit and pride is something that I definitely do not lack in. Now don't think that I was one of those crazies that had her Jubilee outfit all planned out for days... because I didn't, I swear! I knew (obviously) that the outfit would consist of red, white, and blue... but because the weather had been all over the place, it was best to leave the deciding for the actual day. And surprise, surprise... it was cold and pissing down rain (excuse my British speak). Poor Queenie must have seen this coming... I mean 60 years on the throne and how do England's weather God's celebrate for her? With the traditional rains of course! So to stand outside for hours trying to catch a glimpse of some boats and perhaps even a few royals in the icy and windy rain, my wellies were the perfect choice. Keeping with the casual vibe, I put on one of hub's buttons downs that I accidentally shrunken the wash... conveniently it shrunk to my size... witch was an honest mistake even though hubs refuses to believe me! I guess did luck out because I am currently obsessed with collared button downs... oh so comfy! To keep from looking frumpy, I just paired mine with a pale blue skinny jean and was in comfort heaven. Layer on my favorite circle scarf to keep my neck warm and cozy... and I was all set and ready to brave the elements... I even had a flag ready to wave!
***Today I am thankful for the red, white, and blue... of the other kind!!!***
