Two Birds, One Post...

I know, I know, the original saying is kill two birds with one stone but I don't want to hurt any birds... just found the saying somewhat appropriate is all. I love birds... promise! So what am I talking about you say? Well firstly I'm getting to show you two more outfits for my 30 for 30 Remix, day seven and eight. But also I get to show you how highlighted two key trends for this summer... introducing my arm party and the essential summer purse.

Whats an arm party you ask... well just think of it as all of your favorite bracelets, new, vintage, expensive, costume, chunky, blingy, just hanging out together on your arm! No discrimination here, anything goes. If you are a bit intimidated (I was) and not sure if you can pull this look off, start slowly. Layer on as much as you feel comfortable and gradually add more on. The beauty of this trend is there is no wrong way to do it. Experiment with texture, mix match with metals, highlight a color... sky's the limit really. Here's my latest arm party... and may I just say, it was a blast! And now onto day eight and creating an outfit around the essential summer purse. I don't know about you guys, but for me I tend to go smaller on my purses in the summer. I think it may be due to the fact that I tend to also carry around a tote bag filled with goodies... a blanket, good book, water bottle, Betty (my laptop), a sketch book... and so try to reduce the size of my purse! Maybe I should just combine the two and invest in a large carry all hu? Another thing I noticed is that my purses also go more the way of neutrals with texture... this to allow the pops of color to come from my outfit, makeup, and nails I guess... I'm not really sure why I do that one! What do you guys do when it comes to summer purses and your outfits? Big, small, carry all types? Do you go bold and bright, textured or patterened?
